W&S Motorsport to compete in GTC Race 2024 with Marko Elser and Nico Gründel

Marko Elser and Nico Gründel make their debut in GTC Race 2024 and compete with W&S Motorsport. The two Germans are taking on the competition for the first time this season and want to gain important experience for their future motorsport careers.

The 24-year-old Elser previously competed in the DMV BMW 318 Ti Cup and was active in karting and sim racing. He has been working as a race track instructor since 2019 and has been a test driver for Motorpresse Stuttgart for around two years. The 25-year-old Gründel was most recently part of the Porsche Experience Racing Academy and will complete his first racing season in 2024. They will drive a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport from the team of Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas.

The season opener will take place from 10 - 12 May 2024 in Oschersleben. From 28 - 30 June, the GTC will make a guest appearance at the Nürburgring. This will be followed by stops at the Hockenheimring (09 - 11 August) and Spa-Francorchamps (30 August - 01 September), before the season finale is held at the Nürburgring from 11 - 13 October.

W&S Motorsport plans to field further Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars in the 2024 season and still has cockpits available. If drivers are interested, they can contact the team for a personalised offer.

Patrick Wagner, Team Principal W&S Motorsport: "We are delighted to have signed Marko Elser and Nico Gründel. The promotion and training of young and amateur drivers is a top priority for us and our aim is to give Marko and Nico the most important basics they need to take another step on the career ladder. We want them to gain racing experience and we look forward to accompanying them on their journey."

Marko Elser, Driver W&S Motorsport: "After successful years in the BMW 318ti Cup, I am very motivated to take the next and biggest step in my motorsport career so far with W&S Motorsport and the start in GTC Race 2024. I feel I have grown and am eager to take on this new challenge. I can also count on my long-standing partners Burkhardt Fruchtsäfte and TippOil, among others, in the GT4-Porsche, who will also accompany and actively support me in this important project. With unbridled determination, dedication, hard work, the backing of strong sponsors and the manpower of one of the most successful GT4 racing teams, I want to achieve great things in 2024."

Nico Gründel, Driver W&S Motorsport: "I am looking forward to making my racing debut in the GTC Race with W&S Motorsport in the coming season. My goal is to develop my personal skills on the race track, to learn from every race and to make a positive contribution to the team's success. I can hardly wait for the start of the season in Oschersleben!"
