The new GTC Race season starts this weekend in Oschersleben and W&S Motorsport will be on the grid with three Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars. Marko Elser and Nico Gründel will compete as a duo in 2024 and share the #31 car. Tim Horrell will compete as a single entrant and drive the #30 car, while Moritz Berrenberg will make his debut in the series and start in the #32 car.
For the paraplegic Horrell, this is his second season in the GTC Race together with W&S Motorsport and partner PARAVAN. His race car is equipped with a throttle ring installed on the steering wheel and a brake lever that he can operate by hand. The US-American's aim is to gain more experience in GT4 and European motorsport in order to participate in higher-class racing series in the future.
His team-mates Berrenberg, Elser and Gründel are competing in the GTC Race for the first time and want to develop their skills in the GT4 car for further steps up the career ladder. During test days with the squad of Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas, they have already covered many kilometres in the car and got to know the team.
The 2024 season comprises five race weekends. The season kicks off at Oschersleben from 10 - 12 May 2024, followed by stops at the Nürburgring (28 - 30 June), the Hockenheimring (9 - 11 August) and Spa-Francorchamps (30 August - 1 September), before the season finale at the Nürburgring from 11 - 13 October.
